IAPS national championships.



Kent College Pembury excelled at the National IAPS Triathlon Championships at Dulwich Prep School in Kent on Sunday 11th June.

Children from Years 5 - Year 8 competed in the Championships, which consists of swimming, cycling and running, with distances varying according to year groups. After swimming 140m, cycling 2k and running 1.2km, 9-year-old Grace won the triathlon with a finish time of 16.20 minutes. Grace not only took home the U10 Champion title, she was the fastest girl and came 5th out of 137 competitors. Later that day her sister Ellie, aged 11, swam 200m, cycled 4k and ran 1.8km won the U12 Champion in 22.67 minutes.

 A special mention to Alice, in Year 5, who came 19th in the U10 race, an amazing result for her first triathlon.

 This was an outstanding success for the sporting sisters and for Kent College Pembury, particularly as there were over 440 competitors from 67 schools. Headmistress Ms Julie Lodrick said ‘What an extraordinary achievement from Grace, Ellie and Alice! We are extremely proud of them and the delighted that we have been able to support their sporting development.’
